Danbury homeowner Virginia reached out to Brown Roofing for an estimate on replacing the roof of her second home. She had purchased the property a few years prior and wasn’t sure how old the existing brown roof was, but she wanted a fresh new look to complement the gray paint she planned for the house. After reviewing her options for both metal and asphalt roofing, Virginia decided that our IKO Dynasty shingles in Matte Black were the perfect match. Inspector Geoffrey provided a thorough evaluation and guided Virginia through our process and premium materials, giving her confidence to move forward. Project Manager Noel and his skilled crew got to work, removing the old roof, repairing any damaged sheathing, and installing ice and water shield along with synthetic underlayment for long-lasting protection. The finished result is a sleek, modern roof in Matte Black that ties perfectly with Virginia’s design vision, combining style, durability, and the trusted quality of Brown Roofing. Brown Won't Let You Down!
The old roof was beginning to show its age, with some slight staining on the shingles. This home in Danbury is now protected with IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles, giving the home a fresh and clean look, with a new level of protection.
The old roof showed signs of aging such as curled edges, cracking shingles, cupped tabs, and bald spots with missing granules. The home is now protected using IKO Dynasty Atlantic Blue shingles, giving it a clean and fortified look, backed up by the Brown Roofing Promise with a 50-year no leak guarantee.
The Brown Roofing team installed ridge vents for this customer in Danbury, Connecticut. This new vent will allow hot air to escape the attic, preventing condensation and mold. The installation was completed using IKO Dynasty ridge caps in the color Granite Black.
The shingles on this home were starting to curl and shrink due to old age and this caused water to seep in through the gaps. Due to the water, there was also algae and moss growing on the roof.
The first step to fixing this is removing the old shingles and taking a look at the decking layer to see if it needs to be replaced. Fortunately and surprisingly, there were no rotting plywood sheets so repairs were minimal. Next, we laid down decking tape, Sealeron Ice and Water, and a synthetic underlayment, these layers help seal the roof in case the shingles were ever damaged.
Lastly, we installed the shingles and this homeowner decided on our IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles. As we installed the shingles we also installed the flashings around any openings in the roof, like vents and chimneys. We also install them anywhere shingles touch the siding. After a day and a half, this homeowner had a brand new roof that perfectly complemented the rest of their home, and they can be confident knowing that their roof is under warranty for 50 years.
