For this home, we did a shingles replacement and a decking layer repair. There were a few issues with this home, there was algae and lichen growing on the shingles and there was also color fade due to old age.
To fix these issues we needed to start with the shingles, we started by ripping up the old shingles and inspecting the decking layer below. The decking layer was in very good shape for the age of the home and only two sheets of plywood needed to be replaced.
Once this was done we laid down decking tape, Sealeron Ice and Water, and a synthetic underlayment. These three layers not only protect the roof but they also help insulate the home.
With this now done we can finally install the shingles and flashings and this customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Summit Gray Shingles. When installing shingles we always start at the bottom edge and work our way up. We do this to ensure that the shingles are layered properly so water is directed off the roof and away from the home. We install the flashings on any openings in the roof like vents and chimneys. We also install them anywhere the shingles meet the siding.
Now that this customer has a brand new roof they can have peace of mind knowing that their home will be safe and dry for many many years to come.

This roof had a large array of problems that compromised its integrity and strength. These problems consisted of granular loss and color fade due to old age. Along with algae and lichen growth. There were also nail pops all around the roof allowing water to seep into the home.
The first step to this roof replacement was ripping up the old shingles and further inspecting the decking layer below. There were many sheets of plywood that needed to be replaced due to rot and mold.
Once this was done we moved on to the sealing layer. This layer consists of three different materials that work together to seal and protect the decking layer. First, we lay down decking tape and this tape is applied on all the seams created by the plywood and along any of the drip and rake metals. Next is our Sealeron Ice and Water and this is applied to the eaves, rakes, valleys, and walls. lastly, we lay down a synthetic underlayment over anything that is uncovered.
Finally, we could install the shingles and this customer decided on our IKO Dynasty Frostone Gray Shingles. These shingles perfectly complemented the rest of the house and added to the overall beauty of this home. This brand new roof is guaranteed to last for 50 years ensuring the safety of the home and the family inside.
