The Roof Before
Here's what Robert's roof looked like before his roof replacement. Click through to see the transformation.
Before: Ceiling Stains
Robert began noticing stains on his ceilings caused by leaks from his aging roof. Addressing the source of the moisture was the first step toward protecting the home's interior.
The Teardown Starts
The project began with a complete removal of the old shingles, exposing the plywood roof decking, which serves as the structural foundation of the roofing system.
New Plywood Is Installed
The decking was carefully inspected for signs of rot, mold, or deterioration. Any compromised sections were removed and replaced with new CDX plywood, with each sheet documented for accurate material tracking and homeowner transparency.
Seams Are Taped and Ice and Water Shield Is Installed
All plywood seams were sealed with all-weather deck tape to meet current building codes. Ice and water shield was installed along the eaves, valleys, and around all roof penetrations for critical leak protection.
Underlayment Is Installed
The remaining roof surface was covered with Velora One synthetic underlayment, providing a breathable, water-resistant barrier across the entire roofing system.
New Shingles Are Installed
For his new roof, Robert selected IKO Dynasty architectural shingles in Summit Gray. These Impact 3-rated shingles are backed by our 50-year warranty, and ridge ventilation was installed to improve airflow and reduce moisture buildup, finished with matching ridge cap shingles for a seamless appearance.
New Flashing Is Installed on the Chimney
New metal flashing was installed where the chimney meets the roof, creating a watertight seal that directs water away from the joint and helps prevent future leaks.
The Roof After
After final detailing and a complete property cleanup, Robert's roof replacement was complete, delivering a clean, durable, and professionally finished result.
