The Roof Before
Here's what Travis's roof looked like before his roof replacement. Click through to see the transformation.
Before: Lichen Growth
A closer look revealed significant lichen growth on the existing shingles. Lichen thrives in damp, shaded conditions and can trap moisture against the roof surface, accelerating wear and reducing the lifespan of the roofing system.
Before: Cap Shingles Blown Away
Damage was also visible along the ridge, where several cap shingles had blown off due to weather exposure. This left vulnerable areas of the roof exposed and in need of proper repair.
The Teardown Begins
The project began with a full removal of the old shingles, exposing the plywood roof decking, which serves as the structural foundation of the roofing system.
Seams Are Taped and Ice and Water Shield Is Installed
To meet current building codes and reinforce the structure, all decking seams were sealed with all-weather deck tape.
Underlayment Completed & Drip Edge Flashing Installed
Ice and water shield was installed along the eaves, valleys, and around all roof penetrations for critical leak protection. The remaining surface was covered with Velora One synthetic underlayment, followed by drip edge and rake metal to direct water away from the fascia and into the gutter system.
New Shingles Are Installed
For his new roof, Travis selected the shingle style and color that best fit his home. At Brown Roofing, every installation is customized to the homeowner's preferences while maintaining the highest standards of performance and craftsmanship.
The Roof After
After final detailing and a complete property cleanup, Travis's roof replacement was complete: delivering a clean, durable finish and reliable protection for his home.
