The Roof Before
Here's what Lisa's roof looked like before the renovation. Swipe through to see the full transformation!
The Teardown Begins
The crew begins by carefully stripping all of the old shingles from the roof. Heavy-duty tarps are installed around the home to protect the property and allow for a clean, efficient teardown.
Bad Plywood Is Removed
With the shingles removed, the plywood decking, the structural foundation of the roof, is exposed and thoroughly inspected for any signs of rot, mold, or deterioration. As you can see, this sheet is heavily damaged by black mold.
A Clean Slate
In Lisa's case, the decking was fully compromised. The crew removed all existing plywood down to the rafters to create a clean, solid starting point.
New Plywood, Seams Taped, & Ice and Water Installed
Brand-new CDX plywood is installed to rebuild a strong, durable roof deck. Each sheet is numbered for accurate tracking, and all seams are sealed with all-weather deck tape to meet current building codes. SealoronXT ice and water shield is applied along the eaves, valleys, and roof penetrations for maximum protection.
Underlayment Is Completed
Velora One synthetic underlayment is installed over the remaining decking, creating a breathable yet water-resistant barrier across the entire roof.
New Shingles Are Installed
Time for shingles! Lisa selected IKO Dynasty architectural shingles in the shade Shadow Brown, an Impact 3-rated shingle backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty.
New Flashing Is Installed on the Chimney
New metal chimney flashing is installed where the chimney meets the roof, ensuring a watertight seal at this critical junction.
The Roof Is Complete
After final details and a full property cleanup, Lisa's new roof is complete: strong, secure, and looking fantastic.
