The Roof Before
Here's what Robert's roof looked like from the driveway before the renovation. Swipe through to see the beautiful transformation!
Before: Shingles Out of Place
A closer look shows several shingles lifting and slipping out of place, clear signs the roof needed attention.
The Chimney Repointed
Before roofing began, our expert masons repointed the chimney from the roofline up. It came out beautifully and ensured a solid, watertight foundation for the upcoming roof work.
The Teardown Begins
The crew kicked things off by carefully removing all the old shingles. Large protective tarps were hung and laid around the property to catch debris and prevent any damage during the teardown.
The Decking Is Examined
Under the shingles is the decking. This the the plywood structural foundation of the roof. The crew carefully inspected it for any signs of rot, mold, or decay.
Seams Are Taped & Ice and Water Shield Is Installed
All of the plywood was found to be in good condition. Next, the seams were taped with all-weather deck tape to meet building codes, and SealoronXT ice-and-water shield was adhered from the eaves up six feet to protect the roof's most vulnerable areas.
Underlayment & Drip Edge Are Installed
Velora One synthetic underlayment was installed over the rest of the decking, creating a durable, water-resistant barrier. Drip edge and rake metal flashing were added along the roof edges to prevent water infiltration and guide runoff into the gutters.
New Shingles Are Installed
Time for the new shingles! Robert chose the stunning Atlantic Blue from our IKO Dynasty collection: an Impact-3 rated shingle backed by our 50-year Brown Roofing warranty.
The Roof Is Complete
After final touches and a thorough cleanup, Robert's new roof is complete and it looks fantastic!
