Before: Aerial View
Here is a look at Courtney's roof before the replacement. Swipe through to see the amazing transformation!
Before: Worn Shingles & Lichen
These old, discolored shingles were well past their lifespan. The dark valley staining and white lichen spots show moisture retention and debris buildup, both signs that the roof needed attention.
The Teardown Begins
The crew begins by carefully removing all of the old shingles. Before teardown, large tarps are hung around the home to catch falling debris and fully protect the property throughout the process.
Bad Plywood Is Removed
Once the shingles are removed, the plywood decking is exposed. This structural foundation must be in excellent condition, so any areas showing rot, mold, or decay are identified and removed.
New Plywood Is Installed
Brand-new CDX plywood is installed to replace the compromised sections, creating a strong, stable base for the new roofing system.
Seams Are Taped & Ice and Water Shield Is Installed
All plywood seams are taped with all-weather deck tape to meet current building codes. Ice and water shield membrane is applied from the eaves up six feet and throughout all valleys to fully protect the roof's most vulnerable areas.
Underlayment Is Completed
The rest of the decking is then covered with Velora One synthetic underlayment, forming a durable, water-resistant foundation for the new shingles.
New Shingles Go On
For her new roof, Courtney chose IKO Dynasty shingles in the sleek shade Granite Black. These premium, Impact 3-rated shingles are proudly backed by our 50-year warranty.
