Mossy Madness
Here's a look at Karen's old roof before the replacement. Heavy moss buildup had taken over, holding in moisture and accelerating shingle deterioration. Swipe through to see the stunning transformation!
Preparing for the Teardown
Before removing the old roof, the crew hangs large protective tarps around the home. This helps catch falling debris and keeps the property safe from any accidental damage during teardown.
Down to the Rafters
Upon inspection, the crew discovered extensive plywood damage beneath the shingles, requiring the entire roof to be stripped down to the rafters to ensure a clean, solid rebuild.
New Plywood Is Installed
New sheets of strong CDX plywood were installed to create a sturdy new base. Each sheet was carefully numbered to track exactly how many were replaced for the homeowner's records.
Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
The seams of the plywood were sealed with deck tape to meet current building codes, and the entire roof was covered with durable synthetic underlayment, a water-resistant barrier that shields the decking from the elements.
New Shingles Are Installed
Karen selected IKO Dynasty shingles in the timeless shade of Granite Black, one of our most popular colors. These Impact 3-rated shingles are backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty for lasting beauty and protection.
The Roof After
The roof is complete! Strong, clean, and completely free of moss. Another Brown Roofing transformation done right!
