The Roof Before
Here's a look at Scott's roof before the renovation. Swipe through to see the chic transformation!

Before: Algae & Lichen
A closer look at Scott's roof reveals heavy algae and lichen buildup, caused by moisture and debris accumulating over time. These elements wear down shingles and shorten the life of the roof. Time to replace them with strong, water-resistant shingles built to last!

The Teardown Starts
The crew starts by stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof, revealing the plywood foundation underneath. This is called the decking. The decking must be in minit health before the new roofing system can be installed on top, so the crew closely examines the entire surface for any evidence of damage, like rot or mold.

Ice and Water Shield Is Installed
The crew found that all of Scott's decking was in great condition, and none of it needed to be replaced! So, the next step of the process is installing ice and water shield membrane from the eaves up six feet.

Seams Are Taped
Next, the seams of the rest of the plywood sheets are taped up with all-weather Sealoron XT deck tape to meet current building standards.

Underlayment Completed & Drip Edge Flashing Installed
Velora One synthetic underlayment is installed over the rest of the decking, followed by drip edge and rake metal flashing along all roof edges. These thin metal strips help direct water into the gutters and prevent it from seeping beneath the shingles and damaging the fascia.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time to install the new shingles! Scott has selected the sleek Matte Black shade from our premium-laminated IKO Dynasty collection. These Impact 3 shingles are proudly backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty!

Ridge Vent Is Installed
To promote healthy ventilation, a vent is installed along the roof ridge, allowing hot and humid air from inside the home to exit.

The Finishing Touches
After some final touches and a full cleanup, Scott's roof project is complete and looking great!

The Roof After
Scott's blue siding pairs beautifully with these Matte Black shingles. His new roof is built tough and made to last!
