The Roof Before
This is what William and Kelly's roof looked like before the transformation. Swipe through to see the way we did it and how it turned out!

Prepping the Property
Before the teardown begins, the crew lays down large tarps and plywood sheets to ensure full protection of the homeowner's property from potential damage from falling debris. In addition, this makes the cleanup process far more efficient.

The Teardown Starts
With everything properly secured, the crew starts carefully stripping off all of the old shingles. This reveals the layer of plywood underneath, which is called the roof sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof.

Seams Are Taped & Ice-and-Water Shield Is Installed
The crew found that a few small areas required replacement of the plywood due to rot or damage. Those aside, almost all of the sheathing was in great shape and the crew moved onto the next step: taping up the seams of each plywood sheet with all-weather Sealoron XT deck tape to meet current building codes. After that, the ice-and-water shield is installed from the eaves to six feet up, as well as along all of the valleys. This is a thin, waterproof membrane that adheres directly to the decking, protecting it from harsh elements like rain, snow, and ice.

Synthetic Underlayment Is Installed
Next, NovaSeal ULTRA synthetic underlayment is installed over the rest of the sheathing, ensuring a strong, solid barrier to completely protect the roof from moisture damage.

New Shingles Installed
Now it's time to install the new shingles! To perfectly complement their home, William and Kelly has selected the delightful Driftshake shade from our premium-laminated, architectural IKO Dynasty collection. These strong shingles are proudly backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty.
