The Roof Before
Here's a look at Nora's roof before the renovation. Swipe through to see the beautiful transformation!

Before: Patchwork City
Check out this section of Nora's roof-three different shingle colors in one spot! This kind of patchwork usually happens when repairs are made after damage from things like fallen branches or leaks, but the full roof isn't replaced. Time to say goodbye to the mismatched look and hello to a roof that's uniform, strong, and built to last!

The Teardown Begins
The crew kicks things off by carefully stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof. This reveals the layer of plywood underneath, which is called the sheathing. The sheathing is the structural foundation of the roof.

The Sheathing Is Examined
As the structural foundation of the roof, the health of the sheathing is essential. Any sections found with damage, such as rot or mold, are removed and replaced with brand-new durable 1/2" CDX plywood.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
All seams of the plywood sheets are taped up with strong, weatherproof deck tape. The crew then installs a full layer of underlayment: a crucial barrier that keeps moisture and extreme weather off the sheathing.

The Roof After
The crew installs beautiful, premium-laminated IKO Dynasty shingles in our most popular shade, Granite Black. After that, a ridge vent is installed for proper airflow and a ridge cap for a seamless finish. After a few more final touches, Nora's new roof is officially complete!
