The Roof Before
Here's what Bob's roof looked like before the renovation. Now swipe through to see the cool transformation!

The Teardown Begins
The crew kicks things off by carefully stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof. Before they begin, they hang up large tarps around the edges of the roof to catch the falling debris, making way for a more efficient cleanup process while ensuring complete protection of the homeowner's property.

The Sheathing Is Exposed
Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood that is called the sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof, and as such, the health of the sheathing is essential. Any sections found with damage, such as rot or mold, are removed.

New Plywood Is Installed
Durable new 1/2" CDX plywood replaces the removed sections, precisely cut to fit and securely nailed down into place to ensure a strong, solid base.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
The seams of each sheet of plywood are taped up with heavy-duty Sealoron XT deck tape. After that, underlayment is installed over the entire surface. This thin, water-resistant material protects the sheathing from harsh elements like rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time to install the new shingles! For his new roof, Bob has selected the sleek shade of Cornerstone from our IKO Dynasty collection. These premium-laminated shingles are proudly backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty!

Ridge Vent Is Installed
Next, the ridge vent is installed along the peak. This vent helps regulate airflow, giving hot, moist air a way to escape and reducing the risk of harmful condensation.

New Flashing Is Installed on the Chimney
New flashing is installed around the edges of the chimney where it meets the roof. This thin metal barrier prevents water from seeping into the junction and causing moisture damage.

The Roof After
With the last pieces in place and the yard looking spotless, Bob's new roof is officially complete!
