The Old Roof
Take a gander at Carol's old roof before the renovation. Now swipe through to see how we transformed it!

The Teardown
The crew kicks things off by carefully stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof. Before they begin, they hang up large tarps around the edges of the roof to ensure that the property is fully protected from falling debris as well as pavy the way for a much more efficient cleanup process.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood called the sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof. Any sections of the sheathing found with damage are promptly removed by the crew.

New Plywood Is Installed
Sturdy 1/2" CDX plywood replaces the damaged sections, precisely fit and securely nailed into place to ensure a strong and solid base.

Underlayment Is Installed
Underlayment is installed over the entire surface. This is a thin, water-resistant material that protects the sheathing from harsh elements like rain, wind, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Carol has selected the sleek and sophisticated shade of Summit Gray for her new roof. These premium-laminated architectural IKO Dynasty shingles are proudly backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty.

Step-Flashing Is Installed
Step flashing is installed on the side of the roof where it meets the wall. This is a thin metal barrier that helps prevent moisture damage by diverting water away from the insulation of the wall and down the roof.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A vent is installed along the ridges of the roof to ensure proper airflow. By allowing hot, humid air that rises from the roof a way to escape, damaging condensation buildup is greatly reduced.

The New Roof
After a couple of finishing touches and an expert cleanup that leaves the homeowner's property spotless, Carol's brand-new roof is officially complete!
