The Roof Before
Here's a look at Danielle's roof before the renovation. Now swipe through to see the sleek way we transformed it!

A New Chimney
Before we could start on the roof, our expert masons built a crisp new chimney for Danielle-and it looks amazing! With that done, it's time to get to work on her brand-new roof.

The Teardown Begins
The crew starts things off by carefully stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof. Before that starts, the crew hangs up large larps around the edges of the roof to ensure complete protection of the property as well as make for a more efficient cleanup.

The Sheathing Is Exposed
Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood called the sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof, and as such, must be in tip-top condition before the new shingles can be put on. The crew will closely examine the entire surface for any evidence of damage, such as rot or mold.

New Plywood Is Installed
Any affected sections are removed and replaced with strong new 1/2" CDX plywood. Each sheet used is numbered so that the crew can accurately report back to the homeowner exactly how many new sheets were needed.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
The seams of all of the sheets are taped up with all-weather deck tape for added reinforcement. After that, underlayment is installed over the entire surface. This is a thin, waterproof membrane that will protect the sheathing from damaging elements like wind, rain, snow, and ice.

Drip Edge Flashing Is Installed
Drip edge flashing, a narrow metal strip, is installed along the roof's perimeter to seal out moisture and guide water safely into the gutters. With that in place, we're all set for shingle installation!

New Shingles Are Installed
The crew installs IKO Dynasty shingles in Danielle's selected shade of Summit Grey. These premium-laminated, heavyweight shingles are proudly backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty!

New Bay Window Roof
It's not just the main roof that gets the upgrade-every side roof and bay window is treated with the same premium care and materials during the renovation.

The Roof After
With everything in place and the property left spotless, Danielle's new roof is officially complete!
