Woodbridge Roof Before Replacement
Before work began, Ryan and Mia's home featured an aging asphalt shingle roof that had experienced water intrusion. Brown Roofing was brought in to assess the condition of the roof and provide a lasting replacement solution.
Worn Three-Tab Shingles with Moss Growth
Inspector Josh documented the condition of the existing three-tab shingles, which showed considerable surface wear and small areas of moss growth. These signs of aging helped illustrate the need for an updated roofing system.
Exposed Roof Area Near the Chimney
An area near the chimney had been temporarily covered with roofing material and a tarp that was no longer secured in place. This vulnerable section required additional protection to help prevent further water intrusion before the roof replacement.
Temporary Roof Tarp Installed
Before the full replacement began, Brown Roofing's service team installed a properly secured tarp over the affected roof area. This temporary measure helped protect the home from additional exposure while the roofing project was being arranged.
Removing the Existing Roof Shingles
The production crew began removing the worn shingles to expose the underlying roof decking. Large protective tarps were positioned around the home to help contain debris and protect the surrounding property.
Removing Damaged Roof Decking
After the existing roofing materials were removed, the crew identified and removed compromised sections of roof decking. Replacing damaged plywood helps establish a solid foundation for the new roofing system.
Installing New CDX Plywood Decking
New CDX plywood was fitted into the areas where damaged decking had been removed. The crew also began installing ice and water shield to provide additional protection in vulnerable areas of the roof.
Sealed Decking Seams and Ice and Water Shield
The crew taped the decking seams and completed the installation of ice and water shield. These protective materials help reduce the risk of moisture reaching the roof decking beneath the shingles.
Synthetic Underlayment Installed
Synthetic underlayment was installed across the remaining roof surfaces to provide an additional weather-resistant barrier. Bundles of new shingles were staged on the roof in preparation for installation.
Installing IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles
The crew installed IKO Dynasty architectural shingles in Granite Black, giving the home a refreshed appearance and a durable new roof covering. These shingles feature a Class 3 impact-resistance rating for added protection against certain impacts.
New Ridge Vent Installation
A ridge vent was installed along the roof's peak to allow warm, moisture-laden air to escape from the attic. Properly functioning ridge ventilation helps support airflow and reduce moisture buildup beneath the roof.
Perma-Boot Plumbing Vent Protection
A Perma-Boot was installed over the plumbing vent pipe to help protect this common roof penetration against water intrusion. Its protective design provides an additional layer of defense around the vent opening.
New Chimney Flashing and Roofing Details
New chimney flashing was installed to protect the intersection between the chimney and the surrounding roof. The previously vulnerable area near the chimney now features refreshed roofing materials and properly integrated flashing.

The finished roof features IKO Dynasty shingles in Granite Black, giving Ryan and Mia's home a clean, updated appearance. With damaged decking replaced and critical roof details addressed, the home now has a renewed roofing system designed for long-term protection.
