We topped it off with a 6" cap screen to keep animals out (because nobody wants a surprise squirrel roommate and a clean top plate that covers the entire chimney flue for a tight, finished look.

And the homeowner’s already lining up masonry work for summer. Once we get that true spring stretch, 40°+ temps holding steady for a couple weeks, we’ll be back at it.
