If your fireplace has been running a little longer (and a little harder) this week, there’s one thing I want on your radar: creosote.
It’s that sticky, black buildup that forms when smoke cools inside the chimney liner and it’s highly flammable. Worse, it can restrict airflow, which is when you start getting smoke or that stale “campfire” smell backing up into the house.
I wrote a quick blog that breaks it all down. Click the link or scan the QR code to read it.
And if it’s been a while since your last chimney inspection, or you’re noticing smoky odors, give us a call. We’ll take a look and help you get back to enjoying the fire… without the extra baggage.
