The Teardown Begins
The crew kicks things off by carefully tearing all of the old shingles off of the roof. Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood called the roof sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
As the structural foundation of the roof, the health of the sheathing is essential. The entire surface is examined closely for evidence of damage, like rot or mold, and those sections are removed.

New Plywood Is Installed
Durable new 1/2" plywood is installed, replacing the removed damaged sections of the roof, securing a solid and strong base for the new shingles.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
The seams of each sheet in the sheathing are taped up with all-weather deck tape. After that, a layer of underlayment is installed over the entire surface. This thin, waterproof membrane protects the plywood from harsh elements like rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
Now it's time to install the new shingles! For her new roof, Ewa has selected the stunning shade of Brownstone from our premium-laminated IKO Dynasty collection. These sleek, heavyweight shingles are proudly backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year guarantee!

New Flashing Is Installed on the Chimney
New flashing is installed around the edges of the chimney where it meets the roof. This thin metal barrier prevents water from seeping into the junction and causing moisture damage.

The Finished Look
After a few finishing touches, such as installing shingles over the ridge vent and securing flashing around the vents and skylights, Ewa's new roof is complete and looking fantastic!
