The Roof Before
Here's a look at Roger's roof from the front before the renovation. Click through to see the excellent transformation!

Before: Algae Stains
A closer look at the old roof reveals dark streaks of algae-clear signs of moisture damage that's wearing down the shingles. Time to put an end to that for good!

The Teardown Begins
Before the teardown officially starts, the crew hangs up large tarps around the edges of the roof as well as drapes them over the homeowner's yard to ensure full protection of the homeowner's property as well as make for an incredibly efficient cleanup of the fallen debris.

The Sheathing Is Exposed
Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood that is called the sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof.

Bad Plywood Is Removed
As the structural foundation of the roof, the health of the entire sheathing is essential. Any sections with evidence of damage, like rot or mold, are promptly removed and replaced with strong new CDX plywood.

Underlayment Is Installed
With the sheathing all good, it's time to install the underlayment. This is a thin, water-resistant membrane that shields the sheathing from potentially damaging elements like wind, rain, snow, and ice.

New Shingles Are Installed
For his new roof, Roger has selected the sleek and super-popular shade of Granite Black from our premium-laminated IKO Dynasty collection. These heavyweight shingles are proudly backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty!

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A vent is installed along the ridge of the roof. This allows for proper airflow by letting hot, humid air that rises from inside of the house a way to escape, reducing damaging moisture buildup.

New Flashing Is Installed on the Chimney
Strong new flashing is adhered to the side of the chimney where it meets the roof. This thin metal barrier prevents water from leaking in through an otherwise vulnerable junction.

The Roof After
After the finishing touches and a spotless cleanup of the entire property, Roger's roof is officially complete and looking phenomenal!
