Before: Patched Shingles
Here's a look at Howard's roof before the replacement. Years of patching were no longer keeping water out, and the roof was actively leaking. Swipe through to see the full transformation!
The Teardown Begins
The crew begins by carefully removing all of the old shingles. Heavy-duty tarps are installed around the home to protect the property and ensure an efficient, thorough cleanup.
The Decking Is Exposed
With the shingles removed, the plywood decking, the structural foundation of the roof, is exposed and closely inspected for rot, mold, or decay.
New Plywood Is Installed
Any damaged sections of decking are removed and replaced with brand-new CDX plywood, restoring the roof's strength and stability.
Underlayment Is Installed
A full roof deck rebuild is completed using new CDX plywood. Each sheet is numbered for accurate tracking, seams are sealed with all-weather deck tape, and SealoronXT ice & water shield is installed along the eaves, valleys, and penetrations. Velora One synthetic underlayment completes the system with breathable, water-resistant protection.
New Shingles Go On
New shingles are installed! Howard selected IKO Dynasty shingles in Frostone Gray, Impact-3 rated architectural shingles backed by Brown Roofing's 50-year warranty.
The New Roof
After final detailing and a full cleanup, Howard's new roof is complete: solid, watertight, and finally free from constant patching.
