The Old Roof
Here's what Paul's roof looked like before the renovation. Click through to see the fantastic transformation!
The Teardown Starts
The crew begins by carefully removing all of the old shingles. Large protective tarps are hung around the roofline to catch falling debris and ensure the property stays fully protected while allowing for an efficient cleanup.
New Plywood Is Installed
Once the shingles are removed, the decking is exposed. This plywood layer is the structural foundation of the roof and must be in excellent condition. Any sections showing rot, mold, or decay are removed and replaced with brand-new CDX plywood.
Seams Are Taped & Ice-and-Water Shield Is Installed
All plywood seams are sealed with all-weather deck tape to meet current building codes. Next, SealoronXT ice-and-water shield is installed from the eaves up six feet, along all valleys, and around roof penetrations to protect the roof's most vulnerable areas.
Underlayment Is Installed & Flashing Is Completed
Velora One synthetic underlayment is installed across the remaining decking, forming a breathable yet water-resistant barrier. Drip edge and rake metal flashing are then added around the roof perimeter to ensure water is properly directed into the gutters - not beneath the roof system.
New Shingles Go On
Time for the new shingles! Paul chose the rich Driftshake shade from our IKO Dynasty collection. These Impact-3 rated architectural shingles come backed by our 50-year Brown Roofing warranty.
Same for All Roofing Sections
Every section of Paul's roof - main house and overhangs alike - received the same premium roofing treatment, ensuring a uniform, durable, and long-lasting finish.
The New Roof
After final touches, including ridge vent installation for proper attic ventilation, and a full property cleanup, Paul's new roof is complete - and it looks phenomenal!
