Before: Aerial View
A closer look at her shingles with this bird's-eye shot shows a lot of moisture damage resulting in big black streaks of roof algae. Let's get rid of that for good!

The Teardown Begins
The crew kicks things off by carefully stripping all of the old shingles off of the roof. Before the teardown, large tarps are hung up around the edges of the roof to catch the falling debris. This ensures the property is fully protected as well as paving the way for a speedier cleanup process at the end.

The Sheathing Is Examined
Underneath the old shingles is a layer of plywood called the sheathing. This is the structural foundation of the roof, and needs to be in excellent shape before the new shingles can be installed. The crew closely examines the entire surface for any evidence of rot, decay, mold, or other damage, and removes and replaces any areas of concern.

Seams Are Taped & Underlayment Is Installed
The seams of each sheet of plywood are taped with all-weather Sealaron XT deck tape. Next, underlayment is installed over the entire sheathing. This thin, waterproof membrane shields the plywood from damaging elements, like rain, snow, and ice.

Ready for New Shingles
After the underlayment is fully installed, a drip edge flashing is nailed along the edges of the roof. This is a thin metal barrier that prevents water from seeping into the roof, helping to direct the water into the gutters. After that, we're ready for the new shingles!

New Shingles Are Installed
For her new roof, Tiffany has selected the sleek and sophisticated shade of Summit Gray from our IKO Dynasty collection. These premium-laminated, architectural shingles are proudly backed by our 50-year warranty.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A ridge vent is installed along the peaks of the roof, giving hot, humid air from inside the home a way to escape. This keeps airflow steady and helps prevent any damaging condensation from building up.

The Roof Is Complete
After full cleanup, and a couple finishing touches, Tiffany's roof is officially complete and looks marvelous!

The Completed Chimney
The following day, our expert masons went out and rebuilt Tiffany's chimney. Now she can rest assured that her home is properly vented and her roof will be leak-free!
