The Old Roof
Here's a look at Maurizio's roof before we renovated it. We're looking a little rough around the edges-so click through to see the shiny new transformation!

Protecting the Property
Prior to removing the old roof, the crew lays out large tarps to fully protect the homeowner's property, ensuring that the house and yard are protected from falling debris-as well as making for a far more efficient cleanup process at the end.

The Teardown Begins
Now the crew can carefully start removing the old roofing system. This reveals the plywood layer underneath, which is called the roof sheathing.

The Sheathing Is Examined
The sheathing is the structural foundation of the roof, and as such, must be in a healthy condition before the new roof can be installed. The crew closely inspects all parts of the sheathing for any evidence of damage, such as rot or mold.

New Plywood Is Installed
Strong new CDX plywood is precisely cut and nailed down, ensuring a solid and sturdy base for the new roof.

SBS Base Is Installed
The first layer of the SBS roofing system is called the base. This is a thin, waterproof membrane that is securely adhered to the sheathing, protecting it from harsh elements that could cause moisture damage like rain, snow, and ice.

SBS Cap Is Installed
Next, the top SBS layer, called the cap, is adhered on top of the base, completing the new roof. Secure new boots are installed around all of the roof pipes. This is a form of flashing that prevents water from seeping into these junctions.

The Finishing Touches
After a few finishing touches and a thorough inspection of the entire area, Maurizio's new roof is complete!

The New Roof
Sleek, smooth, and stunning, Maurizio's new roof is guaranteed to last for years to come.
