The Difference Between a Bad Contractor, and a Great One

The Difference Between a Bad Contractor and a Great One - Image 1

Sometimes it is difficult to tell the history of a roof, and why it leaks. But the contractors who worked on this commercial roof in Fairfield left us everything we needed to solve the mystery. There were three layers of shingles on this roof when we arrived, and it was very easy to figure out why they were paying for roof repairs multiple times a year. The original roof on this funeral home was a nice cedar shake shingle, which was covered up by a black asphalt shingle once the original began to fail. This is common practice for builders who do not hold themselves to the highest standards. To make the issue even worse, when they did their next roof replacement, they covered up the existing two layers with plywood and new asphalt shingles!!!! This put thousands of nail holes in the bottom layers, and the roof leaked like a sieve. The roof was also repaired with tar, which has been an outdated practice for over 20 years.

These business owners became tired of doing the same patches year after year, so they chose the experts at Brown Roofing to fix their issue for good. We removed all three layers of singles that were lying on top of the roof, and we replaced the existing underlying plywood. We put on a Lifetime Roofing system from GAF and gave the business owners a 50-year warranty on materials and labor.

When it comes to installing a new roof, don't rely on "Chuck in a truck" contractors who will do sub-quality work on your most valuable investment. Brown Roofing has been proudly serving the Connecticut area since 1972 and maintains Master Elite status with GAF, and Platinum Preferred status with Owens Corning. We are the only roofer in the state to hold this distinction, and our reputation and quality of work prove why.
