Before: Front View
Here's a look at Richard's roof from the front before replacement. Swipe to see the transformation!

Before: Tarp Time
This addition of Richard's home had been covered with a tarp to keep rain out. Time to replace it with a strong, lasting roof.

The Teardown Begins
The crew began by carefully removing the old shingles. Beforehand, protective tarps were hung around the home to catch debris and safeguard the property.

The Decking Is Examined
Beneath the shingles is the plywood roof decking: the foundation of the system. Any sections showing rot, mold, or decay were replaced with strong new CDX plywood for a solid base.

New Chimney Cricket Is Installed
Richard's chimney also needed a new cricket. This is a small, triangular structure that diverts water and debris away from the chimney's base. It's finished with ice and water shield plus shingles for lasting protection.

Seams Are Taped & Ice and Water Shield Is Installed
The seams of the plywood were sealed with all-weather deck tape to meet code requirements. Ice and water shield was then installed from the eaves up six feet, protecting against rain, snow, wind, and ice dams.

Underlayment Is Completed
The remainder of the roof was covered with Velora One synthetic underlayment, creating a full protective barrier.

New Shingles Are Installed
Next came the new shingles: IKO Dynasty in Richard's chosen shade of Atlantic Blue. These Class 3 Impact-Resistant shingles combine style, strength, and the protection of Brown's 50-year warranty.

Same for the Bay Window Roof
The same premium process was used on all secondary roof sections, including the bay window roof.

Ridge Vent Is Installed
A ridge vent was installed along the peak, allowing hot, humid air to escape and preventing damaging condensation in the attic.

New Flashing Is Installed on the Chimney
New flashing was fitted around the chimney, creating a watertight seal to prevent leaks at this critical junction.

The Finished Look
With the work complete, Richard's home now has a strong, beautiful new roof.

After: No Tarp Trouble
That tarp is gone for good! This section now has a durable, attractive roof built to last.
